Art will be profoundly transformed by XR technologies. AR and VR give artists the remarkable opportunity to create experiences instead of objects and move outside the traditional gatekeepers in the museum and gallery system. Augmented reality will ultimately transform all our public space into potential exhibition space. In virtual reality, artists will be able to create environments where art and our experience of it are no longer bound by location or time.
