The Art of Immersive Storytelling Workshop at Anderson Ranch Art Center

This summer, I will be teaching The Art of Immersive Storytelling workshop at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Colorado. The mission of Anderson Ranch Arts is to enrich lives with art, inspiration, and community. I am particularly excited as the Center at Anderson Ranch is a vital link in the education of emerging artists, and I look forward to meeting the participants this summer.

Over the years Anderson Ranch Arts Center has offered programs in the fields of Photography, Painting & Drawing, Sculpture & Digital Fabrication, Ceramics. I am honored to offer their first-ever workshop on Immersive Storytelling and Virtual Reality. This will be a unique opportunity to be part of a small group interactive experience with lots of opportunities for creative exploration with an immersive medium and feedback.

The Art of Immersive Storytelling workshop is a full week intensive experience with limited enrollment. The workshop will run June 29 – July 03, 2020, and you can get more information and register here. Registration closes on February 28th!

The Art of Immersive Storytelling workshop

Description:

Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality are transforming the way we play, learn, and create— reshaping our understanding of the world and ourselves. In this workshop, students are introduced to cutting-edge three-dimensional painting, modeling, and storytelling tools for creating immersive art and narratives. The course examines innovative projects featuring art and museum installations, documentaries, music, games, and film making. Discussion topics include immersion, presence, agency, and the ability to evoke empathy.

The Art of Immersive Storytelling workshop will focus on 360° cameras, Google’s Tilt Brush, Oculus Medium, 3-D platforms such as Unity, and other cutting-edge tools.
