Seminar at the ELI 2016 Annual Meeting

VR Lab - Google Cardboard VR

ELI VR Lab Description

This hands-on interactive session the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative will explore the impact of current developments in wearable technologies and virtual reality in higher education. Virtual reality is raising profound questions about the future shape of media, narrative, and storytelling. Technology is rapidly moving from information access to immersive and interactive experiences where deeply compelling learning resources are available through mobile and wearable devices. This shift requires a profound innovation in pedagogy, learning space design, and institutional culture. Participants will have the opportunity to play with multiple VR devices and assemble a Google Cardboard device to take back to campus to encourage further experimentation.
